Worship City is a community of worship and prayer leaders from Nashville, and across Tennessee, “Cultivating Fasting Prayer & Worship that Transforms Families Cities & Nations” In 2011, our team, along with many others, spiritually renamed Music City, Worship City to reclaim and declare God’s intention for music to glorify Him alone!
Our earliest efforts were inspired by revival in Egypt that began in 2010 with a 40 day fast for their nation (see video of explanation and testimonies below). Soon after, a weekly worship and prayer gathering was started in the home of Worship City founders, Barbi & Terry Franklin. These weekly gatherings, “Worship City Nights” became a birthing place for local and statewide prayer and worship gatherings, as well as home to many fasting and prayer efforts, and even nationwide events, inspiring revival and awakening. Now, The Franklins are praying for a larger property for events to train Married Couples, Parents and children, and potential ministry leaders, young and old who can carry the torch to bring salvation, revival, and awakening all around the world with solid biblical training that changes communities worldwide. We need to restore the “House of Prayer” to be right INSIDE the churches of America and worldwide where Jesus said it should be!

Barbi & Terry Franklin are singers, songwriters and speakers that lead worship and prayer gatherings, conferences, and marriage retreats, having ministered since 1985 across 40 countries worldwide, “Inspiring Love in the Home & Revival in the Church.” Barbi said, “It’s a new day dawning in America as the Church is rising up to fast and pray and sing to the Lord again with a love and passion like we have never seen!” Terry added, “We are so encouraged over all the movements of prayer and fasting that are happening across our nation in the last few years, including 10’s of thousands who joined together across many denominations recently in our home town of Nashville, Tennessee and beyond, to fast and pray for 100’s of thousands of residents by name – truly a miracle of God. Love Sings! Love Prays! is a worship and prayer experience that leaders in many cities across America are hosting with the Franklins to encourage their churches and cities to press into God and His Word, and join the great army of worship and prayer warriors who are praying through until true revival comes! Barbi & Terry believe we could be on the threshold of a 3rd Great Awakening, more expansive than any our nation has seen in its history. But the Church must seek God in humility, fasting and prayer to usher in the end-time harvest that Bible prophecy reveals.
In the past few years, Barbi and Terry have been honored to lead worship and pray for such events as the “National Prayer Assembly,” “Family Research Council,” “David’s Tent DC,” “The Return,” and for the prayer room at the “National Prayer Breakfast” with “Intercessors for America,” and other “National Day of Prayer” events.
Back in 2011 the Franklins saw revival firsthand in Egypt, birthed through the fasting, prayer, and worship movement in that nation (see video above). It has now changed millions of lives across the Middle East. So, they asked, “Lord, why can’t this happen in the United States?” So they began initiating fasting, prayer, and worship everywhere God opened doors, starting with “Awaken Us: 40 Days to Fast & Pray,” promoted by the American Family Radio Network in 2011 during Thanksgiving and Christmas – which was a miracle in itself – reaching 40 states with over 500 churches participating! God performed many miracles that year, and since, partially resulting in their local Tennessee ministry, “Worship City.”
They were also deeply burdened that “Music City” (Nashville, TN) had become known for the business of music, Christian and secular, instead of worship to God. So, in 2011, along with other leaders with the same vision, they spiritually “renamed” their city, “Worship City” and established this local and regional ministry in Tennessee.
